Extra-circulars - Kappa Kappa Gamma

Vishar Yagoubian is not only a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, but she is the founder of a business and a member of the University of Toronto Governance Council. This means she is involved in making decisions that affect all UofT students and advocates for policies that focus on tuition relief and systemic change for mental health. It’s hard to imagine being so involved in her sorority and campus life, as well as maintaining a successful academic life!

Lian Alqayem balances school, Kappa, and a rigorous cheerleading schedule, and does so amazingly. Cheerleading, like all other varsity sports, are intense and demanding both physically and mentally. It requires a lot of sacrifice and time, all the while risking injuries everyday during practice. Practices alone are three hours long, from 8-11pm, three times a week. Being a student-athlete means immense dedication to the sport, but Lian has made amazing friends, because like a sorority, a sports team brings together like minded people who must all put forward hard work first.

Carmen Xiang is a private equity analyst at Silverstone capital. Despite being only in her second year of undergrad, she has a hefty resume under her belt. She is also a Director of events at Investa Insights, a junior analyst at Rotman Portfolio Management Group, and an events associate at the Rotman commerce finance association. Safe to say, she plays an incredibly important part of the undergrad finance world. Her career has started before her education has even stopped! All I can say is I am tired just by glancing at her resume. On top of all this, she’s also the Treasurer for our Beta Psi chapter- quite a fitting role.
